The Traverse is GamerHash’s first game, of which two of three parts are released. The action-adventure metaverse game takes place on Mars. In partnership with The Sandbox, the interactive game features a brand hero named Astro, sinister-looking reptilians, and a degenerate monkey within a timeless landscape inspired by Martian conspiracies and cult leaders. Gameplay
Traverse was broken up into three distinct chapters, of which two were released during The Sandbox’s May Fiesta. The third and final chapter will be released during the Alpha Season.

The team behind Traverse explained the reason for the decision to create a mini-trilogy: behind the scenes, while still in development, the game expanded to be more intricate and wide-ranging than initially envisaged.
“As the world of the game grew, so did the demands upon the land and technology it was built open,” explained Artur Pszczółkowski, Chief Marketing Officer and VP of GamerHash.
“This was the only way we could bring the full game experience to our players without comprising load time or gameplay. Instead of bringing Traverse out in one 2X2 plot as we had planned, we ended up using three such plots—one-third of our entire metaverse land holdings! This is a reflection of our passion for the game.”
The gameplay is certainly multi-layered. Different groups within the game are hostile to one another and share the same agenda. Scientists choose brains over brawn and spend their time unraveling the mystery of the universe. Elsewhere, underground miners work hard to mine GHXium. Another game element introduces Labs where “mysteries are wrapped within mysteries.” The Museum of Things houses the greatest artifacts gathered in the ecosystem and is where the Reptilian Scientists await.
The team behind Traverse
Traverse is the first game by GamerHash, a Polish blockchain firm founded in 2017. The studio’s aim is simple: to build the best games in the metaverse. CEO and founder Patryk Pusch is an entrepreneur focused on gaming and blockchain technology. Alongside Pusch, co-founder Radek Rosiak has worked to drive forward and maintain the focus of the project. The goal continues to push the boundaries of web3 gaming.
With Traverse, the team aimed to please two distinct audiences: both The Sandbox community of metaverse gamers and the GamerHash community of NFT enthusiasts and crypto hardcore.
“While many companies on the metaverse outsource game development, we knew this was not going to be our approach. As gamers ourselves, we were motivated by the challenge of creating a game that we ourselves would be delighted to play even if the rewards and tokens were off the table,” Artur Pszczółkowski said.
